Re: Looking for slate tablet with USB port
If you get a bit flexible on the size requirements, you can get the Toshiba Thrive 10". That's my favourite Android tablet due to its combination of specs (full USB & HDMI, SD slot, replaceable battery, 2MP & 5MP cameras, support to Thumbdrives & USB keyboards, etc) and price. Note that Toshiba makes a 7" version of the Thrive too, but I don't think it has a full-size USB or HDMI. No replaceable battery either.
The Thrive 10" is awsome. There are a few keyboard-folios for it if you type a lot.

Re: Looking for slate tablet with USB port
I've long been a fan of the original Toshiba Thrive -- it's certainly one of the more versatile tablets on the market, thanks in part to the removable battery and full-sized inputs. The good news is that is now a year old, and should be available for a low cost. Of course, the bad news is that it now has year-old hardware, including a dual-core processor, and the display quality pails in comparison to the newer tablets, including Android tablets with similar specs. But in terms of getting things done, the Thrive is only rivaled by the Lenovo ThinkPad tablet.
I would also consider any Android tablet with a microUSB input -- micro-to-full adapters can be had for less than the cost of shipping from Amazon.

I don't know if you have access to the Lenovo outlet from Australia, but you can pick up a 32GB Thinkpad tablet ATM for $356.80 USD. It comes with a USB, micro-USB, Micro-HDMI and SD card reader. It also has an active digitizer for note-taking. It seems to fit all of your requirements, including matt display, even if it is a bit larger than you would like.

Re: Looking for slate tablet with USB port
My beef with micro-ports isn't due to the cost of cables or adapters....They're cheap. It's the hassle of always having to carry those things with you and remembering exactly where they are when you need them. With full-size ports, no matter where you are, if you forget your own cables, the cables people already have in their houses/offices can be used with the full-port device. To me, that convenience is priceless. I know it comes with compromises, but I believe it to be worth it.
I'll look for information about the ThinkPad Android tablet. I don't know much about it.Hi! I'm a Tablet PC....and I'm not a goddamn toy.
