    Great info, thanks! I haven't really been up to date on all the new Intel processors. My head is still stuck in the days when a P4 was top of line. Haha. It's ok, I get stuck. I went from using a 486 (after 386 before that and the tapes before that) to leaping to a PII and then a PIII. I'll make it.

    Sandy Bridge, C2D, i3/5/7, gen1, gen2, Llano, Ivy Bridge.....and the universe is the limit. So what's all this about Ivy Bridge. I want a tablet pc NOW, should I really wait for a Ivy Bridge tablet? Also, are there any Llano based tablet PCs?

    Nothing is decided until it is but if I can snag a T901 for cheap, I'm gonna. Less someone convinces me otherwise.

    Honestly, I would wait until the fall. Microsoft will be releasing windows 8 in the fall, and all they've been talking about is how awesome it will be for tablet use.

    At the same time, intel is releasing ivy bridge in the next month, and then haswell next year, and both are specifically designed to increase battery life and also make big jumps in gpu performance. And that's exactly what you'd want in a tablet PC.

    So In a nutshell, you're probably going to see some pretty big improvements to windows tablet pcs in the next 6 months or so. Enough that its probably worth it to hold out on a big purchase until then.

    @DoctorBunsenHoneydew

    I had to take a deep breath when I read your post. You're right. I should wait. Though I really wonder if these new Ivy Bridge/Win8 wonders will be affordable for me. I hope so.

    I had prioritized a tablet pc over a yiynova and an articulating arm but I guess I'll take my money in that direction and start putting away a little money every month for these Win8 IvyBridge wonders.

    Win8 could always be purchased separately though.

    Addition: "According to Microsoft, Windows 8 supports a 10.1-inch tablet display with 291 pixels per inch resolution." That's from TechRadar. That concerns me a little since I want a 13" screen. Also, do you really think any of the Win8 tablets will be oriented towards a power user like me?

    If intel has its way, then yes. Word is they're pressuring manufacturers to make high performance convertible devices. Think asus transformer or Lenovo yoga style devices. Really though, it's up to the manufacturers. And yeah that 10 inch thing is just one spec. Just like windows 7, there's goin to ba all sorts of monitor sizes.

    According to intel, there's about a dozen full-ivy-bridge power tablets and/or convertibles planned by manufacturers. So some tablets, some convertibles. Also some will have Wacom, and some will not.

    No idea about price. My guess would be ultrabook prices plus 100-200 bucks or so.
