No not really, I play minecraft everey blue moon though, but I don’t care. XD

    Screen Specifics

    1. What resolution do you prefer?
XGA - 1024x768 ~ large and easy to read text and graphic icons but you fit less on the screen.
SXGA - 1400x1050 ~ Small text and graphic icons which require good vision but the gain is a much larger screen. (no longer available new, must look for used or refurbished machines)
WXGA - 1280x768 ~ has a wider usable area than XGA, ideal for viewing Spreadsheets and other programs that require desktop space. The mainly used resolution for new tablet PCs since 2008.

I don’t know much about these but I really need good image so that I can draw and write well.

    2. Do you require the screen to be readable in sunlight?
See the above linked FAQ for guidance

YES I have these huge windows where I work at home and they are always glaring

    Matte

    4. Do you require Touch? (without pressure sensitivity) (Which one: resistive or capacitive)

This means do I want to control it with my fingers right ? Well I don't really need that

    5. Do you require a Pen? (with pressure sensitivity) (Which one: Wacom or N-Trig)
I need a wacom pen definitely
See the above linked FAQ for guidance

    Component Specifics

I am not very tech savvy so I'm not sure, but I need lots of space for pictures animations music and writing and photoshop, flash, after effects

    2. Do you require an Optical (CD/DVD) Drive to be built in?
    Definitely

    3. Do you require ability to add a second Battery or Hard Drive (Modular Bay technology)?
I don't even know what this is really *blushes and hides

    Misc
    1. Other non specific items ~ please add other items you require not covered above?
I really need to stress that this must must must be GOOD FOR ARTWORK AND WRITING FLUIDLY and that the screen be good. Also this is very time sensitive because my Toshiba Portoge is cracked and the keyboard and screen are only held together by tape, the sound doesnt work and it crashes like 3 times a day and overheats constantly -.-/ And since I have school work I MUST do, I need a a new computer FAST.

    2. Additional requests ~ anything other you wish to take into consideration?
I had my heart set on Fujitsu T731 . But now I am having doubts if a lenovo or Hp elitebook is better. And HONESTLY I really don't know if there are other Fujitsu Convertibles wich I should get
Also I DO have a wacome intuos 4 but it is large and not portable (plus ail sot the installation cd and etc blah blah).
I love Wacom , so I want a laptop that has wacom pen. Also I want something very pressure sensitive.

Also price matters so should I get i5 or i3 ? Because taking many notes and doing alot of animating and colouring and video editing is important, but because I am using a centrino 2 right now I don't really know how to compare speeds

    Alcent,
    First, welcome to the forum.

Now, in the 12" size for a convertible you have the T731 Fujitsu, 2760P HP, and the X220T Lenovo Thinkpad. All three have Wacom, and all three have touch screens as well. There is a bit of a difference in the application as follows:

Lenovo X220T - widest screen at 12.5" but 16:9 aspect ratio. This means that it is tall and skinny in portrait mode and wide and flat in landscape. Not my preference. You need a dock to get a DVD drive, or an external usb model.

HP 2760P - similar to the T731, this is a 12.1" 16:10 aspect ratio screen which means it is wider than the Lenovo in portrait orientation but not as long. This is the thinnest and lightest option, but, like the Lenovo it needs a dock to have a DVD drive or you need an external usb drive.

Fujitsu T731 - this is the middle of the road of the three for size and weight, but it includes a modular bay where you can have a DVD drive onboard.

Cost - you can get the X220T for 1,200-1,400, same with the other two, but Fujitsu has an online outlet through eBay where you can get a T731 with i5 CPU, 4GB RAM, and a DVD drive for less than $1,000.

    Does this help?
    regards,

    Dan

I can't stand the bezel lip in the T731. I have a T730 I'm getting rid of for that reason. The 2760p is the best in that group IMO. X220T suffers from a 6 cell that makes it awkward because you can't lay it flat on table. Sucks in portrait mode.

You can get 2760p for like $1000 to $1400 on Ebay. Some refurbs, some open box, but that's hell of savings and you can't tell that it's a refurb.

This one is $1200 and comes with 3 year warranty, but a first time seller.

This one says new for $1375 and the seller is well established. Also with 3 year warranty.

I consider the HP 27xxP the best all-around you can get, especially if one can afford the slice battery, base, and dock. An outstanding system...

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post
I need a computer with an moudular bay , so the Fujitsu T731 is my only option then ?
Also when it comes to pressure sensitivities are these computers all the same ?

Is the bezel lip the only problem you see with the fujitsu ?
I'm jut a little hesitant because I've had bad bad bad experience with HP desktops hp desktop replacements and other hp computers. I am a little afraid about hp :F

Also wich one has better colours ? I know that sounds really un-technical XD, but since I do lots of animating and art, I would like nice crisp bright colours.

    Pressure sensitivity:
They should all have basically the same Wacom panel with the same lpi and pressure levels. I'd expect them to be totally equal except for the pen. The tech in the pen is again the same, though. They might just differ slightly at at dimensions and weight and should be interchangeable.

    Optical drive:
If you need it built in, then afaik it's the T731. Are you absolutely sure a USB drive is not an option? Or ripping the CDs to disk and using an emulator like Daemon Tools?

    HP:
Don't compare their consumer laptops and desktops to their professional line. Especially for the 27x0p there's many people around here using them and complaints about problems are very rare.

    Colors:
Wait for someone else to give a statement. There's also possibly different options for all or at least some models.
Fujitsu T4210/15 - retired, reinforced housing, crazy undervolting, now the wife's toy and basically inaudible with a T2300E

HP TC4400 - T7600, Wifi Link 5100 (modded BIOS), Momentun XT 500GB, crazy undervolting

    3.4 pound slate based on a TC4400

I really would prefer to use cd's , but if totally necessary I could transfer it to a usb drive.
What would I get from the hp and lenovo that I could not from the fujitsu though? Is it worth sacrificing the modular bay ? I hope I don't seem pushy with all the questions but I have to make a purchase by this friday or saturday sunday at LATEST
