Re: Webcomic Artist tablet pc on a budget
Also looking at the 2740p and the 2540p. What's the big difference between these two?

Re: Webcomic Artist tablet pc on a budget
2740p = 2730p + CPU and GPU upgraded (Core i3~i7 and HD3000) + optional Capacitive touch.
2540p = Normal laptop

Re: Webcomic Artist tablet pc on a budget
Hey guys, back again.
Ok, I have narrowed it down to 2 contenders. The first is the Fujitsu T5010 from the first post:
Fujitsu LifeBook T5010 Tablet PC | eBay
The second one is a Fujitsu as well, a T4410:
Fujitsu Tablet PC T4410 Advanced 4G WIMAX Touch similar to T5010 | eBay
I know they are pretty similar machines but my main concerns are the screen size and the touch screen.
I want the touch screen but Im not sure if its worth losing the 1.2 inch screen size for. I saw the T4410 has more allocated graphics memory and thats important as well.
Can anyone give me a good idea on which is the better machine, or if its just a matter of preference? Also, are both the screens basically the same?
Thanks all!

Re: Webcomic Artist tablet pc on a budget
Sorry, just got an email back from the guy selling this one saying he would go 550 for it:
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices
So, between these 3 then?

Fujitsu T4210/15 - retired, reinforced housing, crazy undervolting, now the wife's toy and basically inaudible with a T2300E
HP TC4400 - T7600, Wifi Link 5100 (modded BIOS), Momentun XT 500GB, crazy undervolting
3.4 pound slate based on a TC4400

Re: Webcomic Artist tablet pc on a budget
I saw that the T5010 can supposedly only allocate around 512MB to the graphics card while the T4410 can do around 1.5GB.
Not sure if thats true, but saw in a few places on the internet while doing research.

Re: Webcomic Artist tablet pc on a budget
Just to toss this out there: for video memory you will use so little it isn't even funny, I'd be surprised if typical usage was in the area of 10MB even; maybe you'd push past that if you were using a very specific application but in any normal use stuff it plays pretty much zero role.
Beware of the 12.1" Fujitsu's because they had a 'standard' or 'indoor' screen that isn't that great; and a 'Outdoor' option that is the same type of AFFS+ that is standard in the T5010 (its not the best screen found in a Tablet PC, but at the cost, and other factors included it is still one of the best options -the Fujitsu Tablet PC's that is)Current: HP 2730p Win 7 & Linux Mint | Toshiba M4 | Motion M1400 renice 120GB SSD | ITRONIX IX-325 | Motion F5 (U7500 update) | Fujitsu P1620 | T4220 w/SXGA+ 160GB Intel X18-M & 1TB HDD in bay | broken TC4400 [for experimentation] | i5 3570K mITX desktop w/GTX460 | ASUS N10j
Gone but not Forgotten: HP Tm2 | HP Slate 500 | HP touchpad 32GB | 6-core desktop

Re: Webcomic Artist tablet pc on a budget
Ok, thanks to everyone who contributed to my thread.
I went ahead and chose the Fujitsu T5010. Hopefully I should have it by this time next week.
I will post back here once I get it and give it a trial run.
Thanks again for all your help. Thanks Agent 9.

Re: Webcomic Artist tablet pc on a budget
Oh wow, that makes 2 of us. Still waiting on mine to arrive: should be here tomorrow or early next week. I ordered a Crucial 128GB SSD for it and a hard drive caddy. I really hope it works okay as my past luck with non-Apple hardware has been quite awful.
