My wonderful T5010 is nearing it's dying days and I'd like to replace it
Here's the FAQ filled out:
It's pretty generic, but for the most part I want the best pen digitizer available for tabletPCs within my price range. I'm not expecting intuos4 levels (as initial research has shown me that's not available at the moment), but the best level I can get would be preferable.General Questions.
1. What is your budget?
At the moment not sure but probably going not above 2000$CAD (that's if I can get my loan).
2. Would you consider purchasing used/refurbished?
Yes.
3. Do you prefer a Slate, Convertible or Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC)? Convertible is my preference.
4. What size Tablet PC would you prefer?
Small and light ~ 5" to 8.9"
Compact ~ 10"
Mainstream ~ 12.1"

Bigger the better so Mainstream or large.

Canada

Not particularly no.

As much as possible, but not too fussy as average battery lives on computers these days meet my needs.

Drawing and graphics work mostly. .
9. Do you have an OS preference?
Windows 7.
10. What software and tasks do you intend to run? (Microsoft Office or other Word Processing Suite/Photoshop/3D Studio Max/Autocad etc)
Adobe Suite, Solidworks and Rhino mostly.
10. Do you intend on playing Games? If so please list.
Probably not no as I doubt any tabletPC has much gaming capabilities, but if there is one sure I'll take it for the performance boost.
Screen Specifics
1. What resolution do you prefer?
WXGA - 1280x768 ~ has a wider usable area than XGA, ideal for viewing Spreadsheets and other programs that require desktop space. The mainly used resolution for new tablet PCs since 2008.
2. Do you require the screen to be readable in sunlight?
Not a priority.
3. Do you prefer your display to be glossy or matte?
Don't care.
4. Do you require Touch? (without pressure sensitivity) (Which one: resistive or capacitive)
Capacitive touch.
5. Do you require a Pen? (with pressure sensitivity) (Which one: Wacom or N-Trig)
Yes a pen is a must with a Wacom digitizer (unless N-trigs have gotten substantially better than Wacoms which I doubt).
Component Specifics
1. What size Hard Drive and Memory do you require?
Don't care
2. Do you require an Optical (CD/DVD) Drive to be built in?
No
3. Do you require ability to add a second Battery or Hard Drive (Modular Bay technology)?
It'd be nice but not a priority.
