The reply was that it would cost $20.00 for one of their highly trained employees to remove. She promptly returned the computer and went to Circuit City and bought it there instead. | Well that is just flat out wrong. Best Buy doesn't install anything on computers new in box. "All their crap" must have been the pre-installed software from the manufacturer. Also, Best Buy does not charge $20 to remove anything. An Optimization which includes removal of trial software installed by the manufacturer is $29.99. So let's troll a little less on the boards please. |

Okay, so let's get this straight. You stroll in to Best Buy and decide to buy a shelf display. They tell you hey, we can remove the junk for 39.99. You insist no I don't need that I can do it myself and want to take it home today. You then go from there denying everything the sales person says in an attempt to make them look like and idiot and agitate the both of you. You then walk out with a shelf display item with best buys application on it and the salesman goes about his day as he would. You are just one more customer on his belt, we go through at least twenty a day. To be honest, I know for a fact that there is no way you could possibly walk out of any best buy without being told EVERYTHING you need to know about that cmomputer. |

It's great that you go through 20 customers a day and maybe that's why you wouldn't give a damn about a single customers dissatisfaction, but I'm thinking that kind of attitude is not the best way to drum up new customers. Finally as far as you thinking the customer is trying to make you look like an idiot by saying no to you.... get a life. It's not that serious and you shouldn't be either. If they don't want to purchase Office, antivirus, or whatever else you are trying to sell it most likely isn't an attempt to make you look stupid (I think it is interesting though that you think that it is though). There are a multitude of reasons that a customer would not want to buy X, Y, or Z from you from them simply not having the funds, or they plan on using something they purchased at an earlier date, or maybe they just don't need it. Try being a little less insecure in the future, I promise it really isn't all about you.

Rep Power: 1 | Re: Best Buy's ARCHIE: One disc to **** block them all™. yeah i stop buying from bestbuy when i got the run around a couple year back on my laptop in it 2nd year of warranty. I sent in my laptop to get it AC plug fix got it back the first time wasn't fix, so they gave me a new battery, so i had to send it in a second time, this time they said it my AC adapter, got a new one didn't work, 3rd time they didnt fix anything and sent it back with cosmetic damage and a broken hinge, ask to get one thing fix get a bunch more problems back. So filed a costumer compliant and got the name of all the people who gave me the run around. As of now i usually only go to bestbuy to buy dvd and what not and something when im in the computer area and people ask me about stuff i usually just direct them away from bestbuy @@ due to my terrible experience. Picked up a laptop from powernotebook and i've had an amazing experience with them. =( so sad that PNB doesn't have any tablet pc. |

Unfortunately, that's not how it goes because a majority of the salespeople that work there don't even know EVERYTHING that you need to know about the computers they sell. That's the reality of the situation. |
