I'd say you have 2 options at this point

    1) get a Gateway c140x which would fit your bill. More info and linksto reviews are right here. The tablet right now is being sold in two main configurations, however, on Gateway's homepage, there is a link for MPC which is a company that sells their education and business models. If the preconfig'd models aren't what you want, check out the ones on he MPC site. Also, once you spec out a model, or if youlike the preconfig'd models, save the online quote then call or do an online sales chat. by saying you re a student or whatever, they will, or should, give you some more discounts ($50-$400) based on initial price point.

    2) go to the Ebay Fujitsu company store and get one of their newer models (t4220 or t2010) which sometimes can be had for cheap.

Also, don't worry about getting a full 2GB ram now, keep the minimum and order extra from Newegg.com

    Gateway c-140x
C2D T7100, 2.5GB RAM, 80 GB HD, DLDVD-RW, X3100 w/ fingerprint ,Vista Home Premium (hope to upgrade to Ultimate)
