Just wanted to let everyone know that there is a driver update for the HP Create Control Panel for the Zbook X2 now. This should fix the lag issue. At this point, I am absolutely in love with my Zbook. This thing is amazing.

Just happy my input with HP could help. They definitely did a great job getting this sorted out. I’ve been plugging away on the Zbook X2 with the updates driver and it works insanely well now. It’s really been the all in one solution I’ve been waiting for. There really isn’t much I could nit pick about it. I think the biggest thing I could critique is that I like the grip on the Pro Pen more than the Zbook pen. But that is an extremely small price to pay for how versatile the Zbook is in every other way compared to a Cintiq Companion or Mobile Studio Pro.

Big thanks to Yuureikun and HP support.

My experience with HP support and this issue has been similar, little to no pen lag with the new driver. The pen provides accurate input all the time now.
I have tested the driver with Sketchbook Pro, Clip Studio, and PS with good results. Zbrush and Modo also run fine.

IMHO HP deserves a lot of credit for creating niche device that addresses so many of the desires of creative professionals. It seems that there was a lot of thought that went into the design and very few compromises. The only real nit pick for me is the screen aspect ratio could have been 3:2.

So psyched and impressed that HP support came through for you guys, if this machine ever goes on sale in Canada I may just have to dive in too.
So did you resolve your somewhat frequent BSOD's and corrupted files you mentioned earlier?? Was it some specific bloatware or a windows update?

I haven’t run into another crash since that time, actually. I’m not sure what the issue was that day. So far, so good though. It could have just been one of those inexplicable Windows moments.

    Yuureikun,

The latest version of the HP Create Control Panel that I can see for download is 6.3.27rc3 Rev.A, but that is dated 15 May. Is that the version you are now using?

I have an older HP X2 612 that uses the EMR Wacom digitzer.
I use a Cross Wacom pen with it.
I like it, but it has a gloss screen, which is like ice skating
when drawing or working with the pen.

Does this new model work with the older pens, or only the new one?

Is the screen grippy like the old Toshiba TPC's?

The X2612 weighs 4.5lbs. with the keyboard base/battery,
is the ZBook about the same in feel?

Are the side buttons on the screen a gimick or actually useful?

How is the battery life in the real world?

    Thanks for any info.
