What the article doesn't really say is that the command and control system associated with these discs and the IBM PCs is impressively secure... and that's exactly the way you want it.

The Ground Based Strategic Defense (GBSD), likely to be won by Northrop, is supposed to update the system but from a security standpoint it may ironically be a step backward if Northrop doesn't do its job exceedingly well...

8-inch floppies! Haha. It reminds me of a fun conversation I have a few weeks ago. So here I was, looking for a new soundbar to purchase and I was ranting about some of these soundbars from the product analyst's suggestions are too "bulky".

My mother reminded me of what "bulky" is with this:

Of course I know this is a totally different thing because it's a gaming tv, but I laughed hard when she said. She said "imagine having speakers as big as your tv!"

That image brings me back to two decades ago! Can't even remember when I last saw a floppy disk. Is it a case of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it?' To be fair, some old technology like amateur radio can still be useful when you're out of options. I'm actually considering getting one after reading this but would probably need more time to learn the licensing procedure.
