I've got an old unit, and one that has the yellowing corners. I think I've solved the issue! I noticed the screen was more sensitive to touch in the areas it was yellowing.. like touching an unprotected LCD screen, it had the sort of ripple effect on those edges. It seemed like on the rest of the slate, the actual LCD surface was protected from touch pressure, but the corners were not. I decided to loosen the screws at the corners, that hold the LCD in place. At first it made a subtle difference.. Not a lot, but enough to leave them all slightly loose. Then I went on vacation for a couple of weeks and the slate got tossed around a lot. (airplanes, tossing into cars, even took it on a couple of hikes)
Looking at it now, most of the yellow is gone! When I press the screen, it's not making nearly as much contact at the corners. It's really much better!

Glad you found a fix! I ended up just mailing mine in for a fix.
