Let's hope so. There is still the remote chance it will have Core M given the Cube Mix Plus's pricing. Otherwise, with just the X7-Z8750 Atom, the new iPad 9.7" will actually be undercutting it–how ironic! Besides, the performance gap has gotten so wide that between Core M and Atom now. The lowest-end Kaby Lake Core m3-7y30 single-core performance outperforms the entire multi-core performance of the Cherry Trail Atom X7-Z8750!

How misleading! Fake! This Xiaomi Mi site may look official but I just finished chatting with an agent at Xiaomi.com and it isn't. Xiaomi-Mi.com may look official–complete with various regionalized URLs (.co.uk, .us, etc.), Official Xiaomi Mi in USA as the site title bar, and Xiaomi Global at the top–but it isn’t what it purports to be. They told me they are actually looking into getting them to revamp their sites to be more transparent about that. It isn't helpful, either, that PC Advisor (owned by the big press corp IDG) recently reported Xiaomi-Mi.co.uk as an official site!

The upside is there is still hope for a Core M-based Mi Pad 3. The downside is we know no more today than yesterday about this device, if it is even in the pipeline.

I would still keep an eye out to see if the Pro version comes out or not. Believe it or not, the last round of rumors correctly predicted the non-Pro version down to the very processor model number. They could likewise be accurate about the Pro version. This could merely be a staggered release:

"The Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 is said to come with a 7.9-inch screen, 4GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of ROM, MediaTek MT8176 processor (2.1GHz A72x2 + 1.7GHz A53x4), and Android 7.0 Nougat. It is priced at 1299 yuan ($189) and 1599 yuan ($232).

"The Pro version sports a 9.7-inch display, Intel Atom x7 series Z8750 quad-core processor (acceleration frequency of 2.56GHz, dual-channel 8GB LPDDR3-1600 memory support, HD Graphics GPU at frequency of 200-600MHz), 4GB +64 GB / 128GB memory combinations, and Windows 10. It’s priced at 1699 yuan ($247) and 1999 yuan ($290)."

Correct. Unfortunately, none. Again, this all comes from the final round of rumors which proceeded the Mi Pad 3's official launch. The Windows version could very well be a pipe dream. The fact they got the specs right for the Android version does lend to some credence in the accuracy of the other part of those rumors, though.

Just saw it on sale at geekbuying for $299, how's it at that price?

Geekbuying, just like GearBest and Banggood, list products before pricing even is confirmed. For the longest time these past four months or so, that trio of sites had the Mi Pad 3 incorrectly listed by the rumored specs even before we had any knowledge of anything. They might also be trying to gouge people who are in a rush to preorder. Given the confirmed foreign pricing, it should come in more like around $200-$250–especially since it still lacks a Micro SD card slot.

Yeah they all do that, but I noticed geekbuying usually sells Xiaomi stuff for less.
