I am trying to paste some files to the SDHC card, but it won't
    do it.
It is asking me to remove the write protection...but I can't despite
changing the security settings to allow users name and giving it full control.
I did format it to NTFS.
    I need some help.

    Thanks.

SD cards have a physical switch on them. Did it accidentally get switched last time you inserted the card?

I have used the switch both ways to no effect.

I have one on which the physical switch fell out... I had to layer some tape over the spot where the switch had been to make it writable again

Thad, the switch is not broken.

<<...It is asking me to remove the write protection...>>

ships: Exactly what is giving you this message? Can you post a screen shot or at least describe the window and the exact text of the error message...?

Note: The unlocked switch position is the position closest to the end of the card with the electrical contacts...

    I'll try that again....
It is the pop up window as soon as it tries to paste the folder from my
desktop HD to the sdhc card.
I'll try too get a screen shot tomorrow.

    The pop up window says:
    "The disk is write-protected.
Remove the write -protection or use another disk."

ships: Is the SD card new or old?

<> Try cycling the Lock switch back and forth several times. The "Locked" position should be clearly marked with an arrow. You want to end up in the other position, obviously.

<> With a tissue or a Q-tip, gently but firmly wipe off the gold contacts on the end of the card.

If you still can't get the card to work, it's possible that it has developed an internal fault. Try the card in another computer (to verify that the card is working) or try a different card in your Slate (to verify that the SD card slot is working).

    Good luck.

Before you do anything, copy any files you have on the SD card to your hard disk. It sounds like the card has gone bad.
