This is a list of WPrime and WEI (Windows Experience Index) scores for Tablet PCs. If you have any device not listed here, feel free to benchmark it and submit its score. Also feel free to submit corrections for any scores whose numbers you believe to be wrong.

Before running WPrime or WEI, it's important to follow the guidelines below. These changes will ensure that background applications will not steal CPU cycles and that Power settings will not throttle down the processor. So here is what you must do before running your benchmarks:

About WPrime: The program is free, really tiny (less than 1Mb), does not require installation, and yes, the benchmark is multi-threaded! Download the lastest version of WPrime at www.wprime.net. Make sure you get version 2.06 or higher! Feel free to scan it for malware using the online scan VirusTotal (now owned by Google). About WEI: The benchmark is built into Windows since Vista, so, again, no installation is necessary!

To see what these benchmarks look like, check out the 2 videos below:
WPrime on Q6600 | WEI on Vista.

    cool!
    here's mine:

    HP 2730p [SL9400 @2.13Ghz] 32M: 42.112sec

maybe put these 2 in a 'legacy Tablet PC' column:
    Motion computing M1400 [Pentium M 733 1.1Ghz ULV] 32M: 213.01sec
    Toshiba M4 [Pentium M 760 2.0Ghz] 32M: 109.251sec

EDIT: should I maybe move this to the Hardware or Tablet PC Life section?

Thanks to Agent 9 and claudiu83!

I don't think its a good idea to list the old tablets since their scores will literally be off the charts! :D Edit: I think it's better to leave the thread here for now. In the hardware forum few will see it.

    Thanks Excalibur and Candanga!

@Candanga: your Windpad's CPU is an AMD Z-01, right? Just double-checking...

Depends on your definiton of old. A TC4400 with a T7600 clocks in at ~39.5s.

You should also be aware that wPrime is a highly specific and artificial benchmark and can't really be used to compare CPU performance between different architectures.
E.g. a P4 3.0GHz roughly does as good as a very slightly overclocked Slate 500. In other synthetic benchmarks benchmarks and application benchmarks it is usually nearly twice as fast.

I suspect the Atom architecture is the one benefiting the most from this benchmark choice. If you compare the results of the PassMark for the Z540 and the i3-380UM, you get 348 to 1301. That's roughly 3.7 times the score and yes, for all I know score progression in the PassMark is linear, too.
If I use your wPrime numbers, I get 129 to 42, which is roughly 3.0 times as fast. Other comparisons point in the same direction.
The Atom's Achilles' heel of in-order-execution isn't really showing because the benchmark is less sensitive to it than most others and real world applications.

So, yeah, nice idea, but be aware that you have to take the numbers with half a spoon of salt ;)

Also, you should mention the version of wPrime used and adhere to it for compatibility. Should currently be 2.06.
