    so....
    I need a good chair
work from home is doing me in and i've already compromised my back

Does anyone on the forum use an ergonomic chair?
    What is your recommendation?

I'm down to the Steelcase Leap and the Allsteel Acuity.

    Something like this maybe?

Sorry, still excited about what appears to be a successful crew mission to the ISS today. :p

Anyway, hopefully someone has a real suggestion. I've been buying pretty crappy Amazon basics chairs (like $70) so I'm only familiar with the low-end stuff. Hope your back recovers!

About year ago I was in the market for a new computer chair. I prefer the selection at OfficeMax over Staples so I popped in when they were having a holiday Sale. They had a sale on a Ergonomic Chair...it was like $130...

this wasn't the exact chair, but close enough

It had a similar segmented back. I forgot who made it, but it was something like the above one. The OfficeMax had it so I went to go sit in it at the store. It was perhaps the most uncomfortable chair I had ever sat in. That middle part of the back just felt so off to me....like I've sat in economy airfare seats more comfortable then that contraption. Pretty much every chair they had on sale was horrid. I even tried some of the cheaper gaming chairs....all uncomfortable.

I ended up spending way more money on this chair

It was not on sale, and 3 times what I was hoping to spend...but by gods 1000 fold more comfortable. I don't regret the purchase at all.

In that case, how about some more relaxed options

I just use an inexpensive Balans style chair, and have resolved that the next time I'm buying one, I'll get the "real" Varier version (designed by Peter Opsvik).
