Since my laptop is out of warranty by 18 days, HP wanted $329 to replace my wireless card. No way. Does anybody have any knowledge of what internal wireless cards would work in this laptop so I can do the repair myself.

Why bother with an internal card? The TX1000 has an ExpressCard slot, you could get a Wireless N ExpressCard and just throw it in there. It doesn't sort the root problem but it'd be a hell of a lot easier.

Something along the lines of this.

an internal card, will have better range b/c its using the antennae built into the screen, vs the smaller area of an external wireless card.

I have no idea why they are quoting you that price, use HP Part surfer and use the model number of your tablet, and search for the wifi module, you've already been in there and know its an easy part to replace. Based on what i'm seeing it's like $80 + Shipping.
