    Hi all.

I have windows seven installed as you know, and i was trying to think on how to optimize it.

For all who don't know, the optimizations i have tried so far are the same as vista (not like i need any more resources). I have tried removing the page file and such.

My question is, what could i do to eliminate unnecessary background services / improve battery life? I am hitting 6.5 hours on power saver btw (which is amazing considering the manufacturers specs is 5.5 using xp).

I just want to sqeeze more juice and power out of this and was wondering if you have any suggestions.

    Thanks

    KPVIC

oh btw something is wierd with the experience index. It says i have a 5.5 gaming and 3d buisness graphics score, while under vista it was 3.1. Tried rechecking and it stays the same.

Try the following steps to speed up windows 7
    1) Click Start->run-> type in SystemPropertiesPerformance -> press Enter
    2) Go to the Visual Effects tab
    3) Uncheck the option"Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing"
    4) Click OK
    5) Now Enjoy a faster system

The top scores that a system can get in Win7 are higher than at Vista, and this explains why you are getting a higher score for your graphics. In addition, Win7 is more efficient in some graphical tasks. Thus, the higher scores.

Regarding optimization of Windows 7, there are many excellent programs out there. You can try SetteMaxer at http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/System-Tweak/SetteMaxer.shtml. In addition, there is WinTunning7 at http://www.cwtuning.com/ although it is not free. The same goes for Tweak-7 from Total Idea (http://www.tweakvi.com/product.php?Product=Tweak-7). I use a freeware, called EnhanceMySe7en at http://www.softwarefordownload.org/optimize-speedup-windows-7-with-enhancemyse7en. There is a variety of other programs for this purpose out there.
