There's been some Geekbench scores popping up as well: https://mspoweruser.com/first-leaked-benchmarks-windows-10-arm-alarming/

Personally I find the headline of the article to be terrible though. One, these multiplatform benchmarks are always iffy in the first place. Two, they're comparing emulated x86 to a Core i3. Not exactly a fair comparison. A Surface 3 gets around 3200 (multi-core).

Plus, I would expect Edge and Office (and of course all UWP apps) to be natively compiled for ARM anyway, so depending on your usage that might make the benchmark here even more irrelevant.

By the time WOA comes out I think the better SD845 will be out and the 835 will be a bit dated.

    Nov 19 and no announcement.
Seems like MS has figured out another way to screw this up.

Can't wait for Apple to beat them to market with iOS devices that can emulate Win32 and MacOS.

I'm so waiting for this! Given that a lot of otherwise nice convertibles & tablets lack LTE, and connected standby would be fantastic... I envision something like GPD Pocket, only with better battery life & LTE thanks to WoA. Android even in its latest iteration plainly sucks as an OS for actual work; I'm so tired and sick of wasting my valuable time because of how crappy it is - e.g. selecting text that is also a hyperlink is a damn pain, and any touch keyboard is always slower than half-decent physical.

Yeah, this is pretty bad. If they wanted to hype some slick WOA device for the Holidays, that window is basically closed. If you were going to give a gadget to a family member my guess is you already placed an order by now. Maybe it'll be on time for the back-to-school period Summer 2018. Nice going, MS!

Maybe they are working some deal out with Qualcomm to get the SD845 or some custom cpu that's better than the aging(in tech terms) 835.

Maybe the device is so awesome that everybody at MS is playing with it rather than bringing it to the market!
