I'm now three months into my third year with this tablet. I think it's' the longest I've used any tablet as a daily driver. As long as the S3 and the GN5 continue to work as well as they do, I am fine with WOA coming next year. I have been tempted by the GB10.6 but haven't pulled the trigger. I guess I don't want it that badly.

<<...But is the author really talking about WOA in general...>>

...I might argue that, among other things, Microsoft has a systemic problem with time-to-market. I can think of any number of reasons for this, most of them likely important from Microsoft's perspective, but the market delay does put them at an innovation disadvantage.

Assuming that it really is 2018, WOA could easily be DOA...

I was getting close to 13 hours out of my Lenovo Yoga RT with the less than stellar Tegra 3 browsing heavy-ish sites like tumblr for example. So, I would not be surprised to see newer stuff getting at least a day and half.

Listening to Thurrott, Sams, and Foley discuss this in various podcasts, I have to believe the 20+ hour battery reports are for a Surface Laptop running WOA, not a tablet-like device. It has to be a good sized battery to sustain this. Thinking logically (a trait I am not known for) Apple has a pretty good stable of engineers, they control the OS, they control system design (down to designing their own chips) and they can just squeeze 10 hours out of an iPad Pro 10.5. So, although I expect good battery life out of a WOA tablet, no way those are tablets getting 20+ hours with a Windows based OS.

Still, there is hope on the horizon!
