What? Is white? Is free? Is made from water vapour?

What is it? The anticipation is killing me, TELL ME!

(Sorry, it's a slow Monday around here).

I read that given bandwidth factors, Microsoft is rolling this out over a few weeks.

Maybe (1) If you have a small tablet, you have to be "swipesy" anyway. (2) Since very small tablets will have no hard drive they will have connected standby and using the power button doesn't expose any other choices. (3) Microsoft wants everybody to use the power button since Windows 8 was introduced. That's why they "hid" the switch (to believe the many complaints at the time).

What I have read since is that Microsoft avoided a power icon on smaller tablets to avoid the inadvertent shut-down of the tablets.

Hehe - sounds like they wanted to avoid the DELIBERATE shut-down of the tablets.

The 8.1 update 1 went well, brightness is jumping around, this morning no wireless, no old driver to back up to. Device will not start. After a few reboots I did a restore to an earlier time, working wifi again. Not very happy.
