I can't wait until the prices of SSD's drop, but until then we still need to find speed solutions.

The post where you though i was talking about a "instant-on os" is a little off now. What i was talking about was SuperVolume allows for the entire volume to be mounted on the ram AFTER boot. Slow boot, fast in real-world use. Basically so i would be limited to roughly 3.5gb of disk space, which is a valid reason for vlite.

I have an X61T that I want install Win 7 soon. How would you recommend going about the install / tweak / lite version/distro / services?

Where was this? How can this be done?

How do we monitor, measure this at run time and configure before runtime?
    Any recommendations on services tweaking?

I'd like to do a Hybrid on my X61T as well but not sure how I could go about it?

Here is an example of tweaking a tablet.
    http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/ep1...ut-box-tweak-clean-services-applications.html

I do like and have used vLite but the standard user simply doesn't have the time or knowledge to keep on going back to tweak the vlite iso/build. Shame as it does have benefits.

A slightly different option would be Windows 7 compact standard embedded

P.s. fastest boot I've ever achieved from OFF to desktop is 15 seconds
