i installed windows 7 with everything working fine, but all of the sudden, my keyboard doesnt seem to work anymore. the device manager says its working properly, but the keyboard doesnt seem to respond. is there a specific driver that you guys are using? ive tried rolling back the driver as well as the hp quickplay driver, which was automatically detected.

    I'd suggest....

    a) Confirm that the keyboard conincidentally didn't give up the ghost by entering the bios and wandering through a menu or two.

    b) Uninstall the keyboard driver through device manager and reboot.

    c) try plugging in a usb keyboard and see if that gets detected.

I experienced the same situation, not with Windows 7, but the Vista pre-installed!

The keyboard suddenly became nonfunctional at all. I tried everything.
Finally, I had to depart the laptop and re-connected the keyboard cable...
It works. Seems they didn't connect the keyboard securely.

i forgot where i saw this, but it seemed to work.

    1. put the laptop into tablet mode (rotate screen, close lid)
    2. turn off laptop
    3. turn on
    4. open lid when you see the hp logo

If that doesn't work, shut down. Take the battery out. And push the power button for about 10 seconds. Start up and it should work if it is related to the BIOS problem that some have.
