... already downloading. The link had problems earlier today, but now seems to be working OK.

Had to run in IE won't start downloading under Firefox unless you use the direct download links:

Yup make sure to use something like 'Flashget' or 'Download Accelerator' because it's a big file.

3gb... didn't take too long however.

Quick and easy install, feels a lot quicker to use, not too sure about the new taskbar.

    Happy so far.

Taskbar is going to take some getting used to...also multi page internet explorer.

But it is quite a bit faster than Vista.

Negative with the TX2500 so far...

    - external button don't work (mute, DVD, etc)
    - fingerprint reader don't work

I just got my tx2500z. And like many, a clean install is always preferred. But I don't have a 64bit disc on hand to use with the laptop's license, only a 32bit Home Premium from a separate retail purchase.

    What route should I go?

Dual boot with a 3rd partition (Vista, Recovery, Windows 7), using some software to create a 3rd partition from the existing Vista?

Backup your hard drive with some type of cloning software like Ghost or TrueImage then you can restore your system back to its most current state when you need to.

Even if you partition your drive you should do this as a precaution in case anything goes wrong.
