So, does anybody know if you currently have a Windows Pro OS, will you be able to upgrade to W11 Pro automatically?

I believe that the Windows updates work in concert with your Windows key code, so the update should be like for like. Interestingly, I've never thought about checking this in the past...!

Wow, only 3.5 stars from Zac - that's telling, as is his comment in conclusion (just skipped there - not upgrading so no reason to waste time):

"Microsoft has achieved its goal of trying to simplify the top-level Windows UX, but at the cost of functionality which many consider essential to their workflows."

Great - the dumbing down of OS's continues - let' call it what it is - the "iPadification" of UI...

FWIW: The interest in upgrading in our customer base generally is the lowest I can recall for a major release of Windows.

As one IT director put it, Other than "sparkly advertising, MS has failed to make even a minimally compelling case as to why we would want or need to upgrade".

He said that of course they will update their systems eventually, but it's likely a late 2022 or early 2023 effort at the earliest.

Except at least iOS lets you pin apps into folders. I think one good way I heard someone call it is a Windows flavor of Chrome OS.
