I plan to use CS6 and 3D CAD and was heading straight for the Fujitsu T901 but the $2300 price tag was a show stopper.

Anyone know if the Microsoft tablet pro version will have on board or dedicated graphics?

    Thanks for reading

The Surface Pro will likely not have a separate card and will likely make use of the on-die GPU in the i5 CPU. To understand how capable that GPU will be you will need to research the "Ivy Bridge" family from Intel. The GPU will be better than today's i5 but not likely 3D CAD good.

The T901 and older HP TM2 (I believe) were/are the only two TabletPC's I know of with discrete graphics cards.

You might wait a little longer for the fujitsu t902 to see if they continue with the discrete card.

i checked on the t901 and it looked liked it had
    the internal intel hd3000...

the hp tm2 has ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5450 Graphics

    and tc 1100 has AGP 4x - NVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go

i'm sure there might be a couple more..

    later

It has an Nvidia Optimus OPTION. Not all the T901 units are sold with the dedicated GPU.
The dedicated Nvidia option on the T901 is currently the only recent contender for discrete graphics. It has 1 gig of dedicated ram.

I am also hoping the T902 has the optimus option again, perhaps with a slightly better graphics card? haha

You should just wait to see if the HD 4000 graphics in the Surface Pro would be enough. It would beat the pants off HD 5450 and Geforce 4 420 Go and even the ULV version should be on par with the NVS4200M in the T901.

No way in hell the Pro has anything but the HD4000 on the CPU die. There is simply no room for anything more.
