Will Folio 13's keyboard fit in TM2? They look very much the same, but of course I haven't seen an actual Folio 13, I don't know whether is similarly sized.

The Folio 13 is so new, no 3rd party component vendor has replacement parts listed for it yet. I couldn't even find any part number on HP's site yet.

Edit: Folio 13 keyboard (US) P/N is 673656-001

If you look at the Folio13, there's also a ribbon cable for the backlight. Not sure if the tm2 has that, but if it does, there's a chance, but I highly doubt it.

After looking over the service manuals a bit, the tm2's keyboard sits on the top cover, so the way they're fastened into the devices is most likely different. Also, the tm2 doesn't seem to have a light cable connector on the motherboard from what I can tell from the service manuals. So I don't think the Folio 13 keybaord will fit.

I disagree. From what I can see, the keyboard dimensions are exactly the same. With that in mind, any rigging needed to light the keyboard up is trivial. It's definitely worth looking into.

    This looks possible.
The keyboard top is exactly the same and the main ribbon looks the same with the same number of pins.
Now the backlight is controlled by a 2nd 4 pin ribbon from what I can tell has two 5v and two ground pins.

You would have to connect 5V to it, but it would stay on all the time unless you wired in some kind of switch.
The Folio 13 keyboard is $65 from HP and I dont see any deals cheaper than this from 3rd parties or ebay.

I dont feel like spending $65 just to have backlight.
