, sometimes life is unfair
So now that Dale has ordered a GZF3, I'm afraid I'm going to have to admit that I lost this bet! Congrats @dstrauss on defying expectations .. and on buying an even more expensive folding Android phone!
What's another $300 among the tech giants (MS and Samsung) - oh wait, since I held out until this week I guess the difference is more like $469 for 2018 tech or $1799 for 2021 tech...hmmmmmmm
, with all the rumors regarding the Duo 2 there is still a glimmer of hope, a new hope.
There should be a new thread, "Will Dale keep or dstrauss the GZF3?" But I guess we all know the answer.

That's why this thread still has life. There could still be a Duo in his future after destraussing the Fold 3. Kind of like a relationship on the rebound.
I have learned to never say never, and by October they may be giving away Duo's with an annual Microsoft 365 subscription, but this is not the future for me. Just like a lot of you, I want a two device life - phablet and laptop. Some come at it from the Note series plus best available Windows tablet, most end up like me with a phone, tablet, and laptop. The Fold3 is a chance for a real phone/tablet device. If I fail (the dstraussing syndrome) the rebound will be to iPad, because I will stay in the walled garden I know. The Duo would just be an inconvenient third device running a third operating system in my mix. Not going to happen.
Sadly, the SDuo reminded me why I left Android several years ago - the UI is a PITA. Short of running Windows 11 on ARM there's very little chance M$ will get me to buy Duo Deux. I'm afraid SGZF3 reminds me of the girl you always wanted so badly to date, until she got caught in a rainstorm and all the magic washed away.
Sure hope not (says the guy who is trying his darndest to suppress his dislike of Android)...
