Dale is sitting out the Duo launch in favor of a Samsing Galaxy Note 20. The question is whether or not he will own a first generation Duo sometime during its life cycle. :vbconfused:

Yeah, I think the odds are in favor of it. Unless the others here who ordered it give it a bad review. Or MS discontinues it before he can get around to it. :newpalm:

Depends on how much of a success or a flop it ends up being. Given the super high price point I could totally see this being Microsofts biggest failure since Windows RT. But if the Duo does end up being a costly flop for Microsoft and...lets say a year from now its heavily (and I mean heavily) discounted, or can be purchased in the refurb/renewed circles as no more then half of its current retail base price, given its still running Android, should Microsoft concede defeat and abandon future development, it would still be mostly fully usable still because Android itself will still be supported, unlike Windows RT, S, and Windows Mobile. In that regard I could totally see the Duo have a post-death surge in popularity...once it actually becomes affordable.

My bet is that he'll be dstraussing both the GN20 and the Duo, and then returning to his walled garden of

With Microsoft's generous return policy it is a no-brainer.

Wow - from a verb “dstraussing” to a odds maker nightmare - I feel so special.

Let”s add some speculative grist for the mill...
    • He does have the GN20u (512gb) model on preorder but not dropping until 9/11
    • Grudgingly my family is accepting my imminent change to Android
    • Even if the GN20u is a winner, it is only temporary
    • The goal is a Galaxy Fold with a siloed S Pen - even if it is $2k plus
    • My two weeks with the Flex 13 has re-affirmed that I am a heavy note taker and NOTHING - NOTHING - compares to Wacom EMR
    • The Flex 13 is not too large to carry to most meetings - the weight to size balance is great
    • When do I need a truly portable note taker - almost any time I’m away from the Flex
    • Will I have a Duo AND Pen available with me ALL the time?
    • Will I ever have a penabled iPhone, and if so, will it be siloed?
    • Even if a half-price Duo showed up - still no elegant pen solution
    • If GN20u isn't my cup of tea (I remember the joy of downsizing from the 8 Plus to a X), then I will just stay with my 11 Pro for now, so I guess @nnthemperor wins the pool
Of course, none of this survives the first hands on demo of a Duo at BB :D:p:eek:
