For all buyers of Asus R1e, why did not you select Gateway CX140 instead?

I run a poll in the Gateway and Asus forum asking if they would prefer the Asus R1e or the Gateway CX140. All of them select the Gateway CX140.

I compared the two tablet and found out the difference:

Factors that i considered helpful for Gateway C-140x are
    1) the larger screen - 14.1 vs 13.3
    2) the higher battery life - 5.5 hours vs 2 hours
    3) Dedicated graphic card with 3DMark05 score of 2400 vs 950 for Asus GM965
    4) 3 year warranty
    5) No complaints of battery wear or headphone static
    6) Glossy screen but i was told by Gateway users that this screen is beautiful
    7) Both have hot swappable DVD and battery
    8) Both have Super Multi DL DVD
    9) So far no complaints or outstanding issues for Gateway CX140

Factors that i considered helpful for Asus R1e are
    1) Matte screen vs glossy screen
    2) Slightly lighter
Factors that i considered no good for Asus R1e are
    2) 2 year warranty only
    5) Complaints of battery wear or headphone static

Considering how good Gateway CX140 is compared to Asus R1e, why don't you choose Gateway instead?

Any answers from Asus R1e owners or Asus R1f? Jerelyn ?

Disadvantages of the gateway (for me):
*Can ONLY be bought in the US
    *14" screen
    *Don't trust the build quality

But mainly because I can't buy it in Australia

The 14" screen is a disadvantage to me. The tablet is just too big.

The dedicated graphics is a non-issue. I don't game on my tablet.

I'd have to agree with chinese, the build quality of Gateway is not as good as the Asus.

Reasons Gateway wouldn't work for me:

14" screen and 2 lbs heavier
    *No express card
    No eSATA
    No Optical S/PDIF

*This is the only one that is critical. The others I might have given up for the sake of the dedicated graphics.

Then there's always the C120 for less power, dual mode screen and lightness (but still optical drive), disregarding the other points missing.

Why would you run a poll here? Alot of people here prefer the gateway. Run it on a different site like Hardforum.

As for build quality, I must say I'm more impressed with mine that other company laptops from various makers (HP/Compaq, Toshiba, Dell, Sony) which I've had the luxury of helping to order for folks. The build quality on mine I would stack up to any other brand.

While its not a 4lb baby, the weight isn't as bad as its made out to be. I have some dell's that weigh less, but feel heavier go figure.

Of course, there are lemons in every orchard, and its usually the problems of a few that get amplified.

I would buy the gateway only for its price.(but i'm italian so....)

Asus R1E is better because :

    LIGHTER
    MORE PORTABLE
    EXPRESS CARD
    LESS HEAT PROBLEMS
    eSata port
With modular battery has the same battery life of the gateway
512 levels of pressure (i've read that the gateway has 256 levels of pressure)
