    Core 2 Duo.

To my knowledge the version you want has not been released yet. PROPORTABLE (from the Notebookreview.com sister site) mentioned that there would possibly be future versions of the R1F with a better CPU but he did not mention a timetable for their release.
I would recommend asking him in the ASUS forum at notebookreview.com as he is the man who would know.

I hate it that we in Europe always get the latest toys last.

well, i ordered a Asus R1F in Germany about 3 weeks ago (and got it within a couple of days) from www.nutrius.de . Good store. It has a Core2Duo T7200 and they also carry the modular bay battery.

    I had nothing to do:

I had chosen the processor upgrade, the memory upgrade, and the 7200rpm disk upgrade, and all arrived configured and running.

If you are still shopping around for a reseller, check out Star Tech http://pc11.flashecom.com/startech/

You can configure an R1F with the up to the 7600 CPU, 7200 rpm HD, and memory configurations to your liking, all at a competitive price. They may also give you a discount if you are a student or in the military. If you haven't purchased the R1F yet, I suggest you give these guys a call.
