Actually I shouldn't have cut and paste from the dang Frys site. This is PC-5300 (aka 667 MHz) RAM which is the fastest that the T4220 will accept. PC-6400 does nothing for you since the T4220 can't go any faster than 667.

    NewEgg Specs:

    Brand CORSAIR
    Series ValueSelect
    Model VS4GSDSKIT667D2
    Type 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM
    Tech Spec
    Capacity 4GB (2 x 2GB)
    Speed DDR2 667 (PC2 5300)
    Cas Latency 5
    Timing 5-5-5-15
    Voltage 1.8V
    ECC No
    Buffered/Registered Unbuffered
    Heat Spreader No

IINM (if i'm not mistaken) the T7700 processor takes the bus to 800MHz.

Although Fujitsu's data sheet for the T4200 shows a FSB speed of 667MHz:

    http://www.computers.us.fujitsu.com....shtml?products/notebooks/tech_specs/t4220_ts

The Intel spec sheets for the currently available processors show a bus speed of 800MHz,
    http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sspec=sla3t
    http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sspec=sla44
    http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sspec=sla43

It would be nice if somebody who has a recent T4220 with the original Fujitsu installed RAM would check the part number so we can see if they are shipping 667MHz memory or the web site just isn't up to date.

I believe mine shipped with PC5300 (667 Mhz) RAM (pretty sure this is the stick right here). I don't think you can choose anything other than 667 Mhz when you build a T4220 online.

The output by cpu-z shows that the default installed RAM is PC2-5300. Partial output of cpu-z on my T4220 (received end of December 2007):

But the chipset doesn't support faster memory. If you go through the datasheet on this page: http://www.intel.com/design/mobile/datashts/316273.htm

    You'll find: Support for DDR2 at 667MHz and 533MHz.

Thank you very much for the cpu-z output. The chipset info confirms that the bus is running at PC2-5300 speed.

Your link leads to the 965 Express chipset datasheet
    http://download.intel.com/design/mobile/datashts/31627303.pdf
In Section 5.1 the datasheet confirms the 533MHz and 667MHz limitation.

It’s very nice to have documentation to confirm “facts” gathered on the internet. Thanks again for your help.
