Unfortunately in Notebooks not any type of Memory works 100%. There are sometimes many incompatibilties with some manufactures. A safety choice were to buy memory chips directly from HP for the notebook model, but this is very expensive, not rarely 200% of a "normal" memory price. I have found out that Kingston make memorychips for the tc4200

with the OEM-Type KTH-ZD8000A (PE832A) The manufacturer Transcend make memorychips of this model too http://ec.transcendusa.com/product/ItemDetail.asp?exid=1&ItemID=TS1GHP832A

Unfortunately the price for this model of memorychip raised aggressively from yesterday to today. Yesterday a 1GB memorychip had cost 80 € (ca. 100 $). Today the price is 110 € (ca. 135 $).

Now i want to buy cheaper Ram from another Brand manufacturer, but i fear incompatibilities. Please report which type of ram in your tc4200 works and how it works, thx!

I always recommend Crucial RAM (manufactured by Micron). You just can't go wrong with there DIMMS - compatibility is 100% guaranteed.
