    Hello Guys,

i bought a dell xt2 on ebay... so now after a year without any problems i was thinking about getting a new wlan card and extending my ram to 5 gb...

i opened the case and i´ve been a little bit surprised about what i got to see there.

there is only a wlan card slot for cards with the half size.
there is not even the possibility to insert a card with full size.

    Look at this picture...

What is this? is it normal? did i buy some crap?

    Thanks for help!

Luk: I'm not sure why you find this so surprising. Half-size WiFi cards have been common for years and many products use them.

In the specific case of the XT2, and if memory serves, there were at least two options that were available, one Dell and one Intel (...I think it was...). I think I opted for the non-Dell card and I've always had superb performance. If you want a more modern card, you should not have much trouble locating a suitable candidate.

Regarding your plan to upgrade your RAM, I assume that you know that you must be using a 64-bit OS if you want to utilize more than about 3.5 GB of RAM, which is the approximate limit for a 32-bit OS?
