Actually, the easiest way to update the firmware on a working Eee-Note to the latest Russian firmware version is probably to use my hacked Eee-Note Sync tool:
I modified the Sync-Tool binary to look at the freeenote.org server instead of the Asus server. It points to an EeeNote.idx file found here:
Be warned though, that since I haven't released it previously, it hasn't been thoroughly tested, so it may not work correctly.
