Everytime I start up my computer I get the error that acmon.exe needs shutdown and send an error report. I am guessing this has something to do with splendid video. How do I fix this error?

It's associated with the Splendid video enhancement driver. Try re-installing it.

I uninstalled Splendid Video for this exact reason. I was thinking about re-installing it as an experiment. Anyone have any comments about what Splendid Video actually does? My screen seems pretty nice without it . . .

"...pretty nice" without it...I guess it would be ... splendid with it... just a guess.:D

seriously... I don't see any difference either. Maybe useful for 'theater mode' when watching a DVD or things like that...

basically, it just changes the gamma and color tones of your screen. you could technically do it yourself using the "color correction" located under the intel graphic options.

so in the end...not worth it to have it installed.

I uninstalled and then reinstalled, but that didn't seem to work. I didn't mess around with any of the drivers, but I assume that if I just installed the program it would take care of the drivers. Oh well I think I will just uninstall altogether like some of the others.

More like splenda, the artificial sweetner

Anyhow, here's Asus' write-up on it . . . I'm not going to reinstall it unless I start wishing I could see nicer pictures.

I had the same problem, with the error message showing up everytime I Logged onto my new computer. I tried uninstalling it and then downloading it from their website. Result was more error messages about unfound files. Decided to dump the whole thing. If the software is causing problems now that means its going to be trouble later on too. No time for this.
