I would really value this in my use case when in the role of a programmer. I feel like I am placing my hand into a half-pint-sized jar when I try traversing code, a terminal, or any other text-based application with arrow keys. Maybe Microsoft should make different variations of the type cover for different professions? For example, why not even a cover with a digitizer so you could draw in two places at once, on- and off-screen? Why not a type cover with an OLED touchbar on it (thanks, Tim Cook)? Why not a type cover with custom RGB lighting and programmable macro buttons for eSport gamers? Why not a type cover with a shock emitter and a buzzer when junior goes overtime on his computer privileges? Okay, that one... not so much. In all seriousness, but still: If Microsoft licensed out their Surface Cover connection interface to accessory manufacturers, things like this may have already happened a long time ago. I understand their need to maintain quality standards and not tarnish the Surface name. However, I think their product has matured and established itself long enough in the market that now is the time for them to brave this new, undiscovered country of third-party accessories.

EDIT: I just made a thread for discussing custom third-party Surface Covers!

Creators Update has officially reached RTM status. Build 15063, which just released in the late evening on March 20th, has just been confirmed to be the official RTM build for Creators Update. Yesterday's confirmation comes by way of a leaked Update Assistant tool, uncovered by none other than serial leaker and Microsoft fan WalkingCat. You can download the tool at the link below and upon running, it will tell you your system is not on the latest version of Windows and then offer to update to build 15063. However, since Microsoft has yet to deploy the actual files to their update servers, the update will fail to initialize. Interestingly enough, this development appears to coincide with the recent release of the Samsung Galaxy Book official launch video. Since RTM is now clearly signed off and ready for release, Microsoft, if they intend to co-launch new hardware with Creators Update, should be sending hardware event invites any day now. If so, the latest date we should expect for these invites as others have expressed is Tuesday, March 28th. If we should pass that day without any invites, expect no major hardware announcements for some time until May or October.
