So, is it going to be a June or October release for the Surface Pro 5?

Intel's next gen chip won't be out till Spring next year and MS is going to synchronize the SP5/Book 2 releases with W10 Redstone 2, also projected for next Spring. June 2017 is a safe bet, allowing for more delays.

    http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/thr...transformer-3-intel-7th-generation-cpu.69863/

1.Three USB C Type B 3.1 thunderbolt support(2 ports at the tablet and 1 at type cover)
    2.Intel Smart Frame.
    3.DDR4 Ram support.
4.Real SSD NVMe PCIe with performance 2000 read and 1500 write.
    No more crappy Samsung drive.
5.Fingerprint reader at the tablet just like Huawei MateBook or ThinkPad X1 not at the optional type cover.
6.A power cover option with built in battery for those want battery life-battery life-battery life.
    7. Extra HDMI 2.0 port
8.External VGA dock as optional accessory.
9.Minimum entry level version with 8gb ram and 256SSD

10.Improvements-improvements -Improvements in Windows 10 and tablet mode and adding useful feature from 8.1 and iOS or android also(for example double tap to wake up screen from sleep-widget support on start screen(aka lock screen)-more customizable Notification Center and of course interactive live tile.

I like the extra ports in the ASUS TP3, love the fact it's compatible with the ASUS GX2.
With all the eGPU's coming out I wouldn't mind seeing the rumored Xbox one slim be compatible with the SP5, either through some sort of HDMI in port or over TB3 port connection/adapter which I also figure the SP5 will have.

If the new SP5 doesn't have additional ports like the Asus Transformer Pro 3, then I cannot see it selling very well at all.

The general public don't really care about that... SHINY rules. 'We' would like two USB ports but we're not everyone. :(
