I really believe 8" Windows 10 tablets are headed the way of the dinosaurs. Hit a major hardware retailer here in Tokyo, Yodobashi Camera, and not a single device in that size running windows 10. Came away feeling the harsh reality of what that implies.

Anyone tried the Dell venue 8 pro 5855? Wondering if it'll be snappier than the HP8EN with it's 4gb ram?

Shinjuku or Akihabara? Usually they have more odds and ends in Akihabara. But you're right, nothing new under the sun in the 8" segment.

Twitter is to communications as haiku is to literature.

Actually, it was in Kawasaki. I usually have a hard time finding things in Akihabara. Sometimes, I wonder if it's not more of a cosplay center than an electronics town.

I've used the HP8EN, the HP 608 Pro, and the Dell V8P 5855 and the V8P was definitely the snappiest out of the three. I kept the 608 Pro out of the three simply because I like the 4:3 aspect ratio and it has a gorgeous display. But the V8P beats it out in speed, and with its speakers, stylus, and battery life.

I agree we need it. I would market it as a OneNote tablet. I have all the devices and sizes and still use my 8" as much as my desktop. I take it to meetings internal and external have full Office365 and it works great.

Thanks @Shooby319. I'm actually thinking of picking up a refurbished one on eBay for half the original price. Would you advice that?

I sent it back. I had the original Dell and couldn't notice a difference except the screen on the new 5855 was not as bright. The pen worked the same which isn't great. I have also used the Asus Vivonote 8 and just recently got the HP Envy Note 8 which is great. Great pen. Great looks. Only 2Gb but that is fine for Onenote and outlook.

@inmnbob, I currently have the HP8EN too, and I've being getting much use out of it, even more than the SB, but lately it's been very slow to load apps. I was thinking the 4gb in there 5855 would make a huge difference.
