I sent it back in this morning...
The guys from uni-notebooks.de told me that as soon as they get the next shipment of T5010s they will send me a new one (even if the old one hasn't yet arrived) very nice...

Well not nice... They promised me stuff they didn't do (again)...
They told me they would get new T5010s last week and that they would send me a new one right away.
Of course they didn't... But FSC has part of the blame because they don't ship enough T5010. Bad company!
I really think of calling the order off. This is just exhausting.
Too bad the hp and ibm are a bit to expensive.

Well, if its any consolation, mine was supposed to ship on the 26th but I'm still waiting five days later. Fujitsu seem to be really struggling to meet any kind of demand with this model.... Who knows when I will get it.

I called FSC, asking if they would just repair my display (for example in the semester break) but they don't care a bit. My dealer has to replace the whole computer.
I don't understand that because they have to replace that display one way or the other...
Really bad service by FSC. I just remember hp replacing the mainboard of my last notebook for for free (out of warranty and usual price 460€)!
I would really like to buy hp again! I guess this will be my first and last FSC if I don't cancel the order (which I will if I don't have a working computer at my house by saturday).

That's not good. Send it back again. Or, if you've had enough, ask for a full refund.

Still no T5010s available in the UK...

Might go for a Lenovo X200t instead, but it's not my first choice. I wonder if anyone from Fujitsu Siemens reads these forums and can speed up supply?!

I think I will stick to this machine. I really need a computer right now and the scatch can not be seen when the display is on.
uni-notebooks.de also told me they wouldn't provide me with another machine and that I must have used a normal pencil to write on the display and this way caused the scatch myself... Heavy accusations...
I don't like to worry about these damned computer everyday... If I just use this machine it's finally over.

Well, it's good that you've got one at least!

I've just had a look at Laptop Authority's site and their prices aren't too bad. Just need to work out (again) what the import duty to the UK would be.

Hope you enjoy your new machine.
