Please share any photos/videos when you receive your Companions. Any thoughts from owners would be appreciated.

I'm looking forward to any comparisons to other tablet PCs and any views of how well it performs with different software.

Will the Windows 8 Companion come with bundled software for sketching like the android version?

I've always liked Marc's art but that was a terribly uninformative review.
Oh well. The big things I want to know is:

Does it throttle? How long can it sustain 2.4 ghz. Most art programs are going to need turbo mode as long as possible. its base frequency is pathetic at less than 2 ghz.

How is the heat when pushing the device? Is the fan loud?

How does the low TDP of the machine handle 3D applications with the HD4000? Does the power set-up favor CPU, GPU, or a nice balance of both (like Surface Pro now does after the BIOS update) ?

How's the internet connection? Drop outs, range, strength etc.

Interesting I thought it was pretty informative, although I've only been concerned on three issues which is heat, battery life and zbrush which the vid covered so I can see where you are coming from. Hopefully as more people get hands on time more descriptive reviews will come out!

    Thanks for your input PGross!

So early assumptions based on AIDA tests that the CPU is kept to 2.4ghz are incorrect. If you bench with the free 3dMark, would it stay at its max? I am assuming its max speed is then 2.8 ghz? That's still less than the BASE speed of the T902, but better than the expected 2.4ghz.

Have you experienced any lag with large or complex brushes in photoshop in big files (say a 400px brush on a 3000 x 4000 px 150 DPI canvas) ?? Could you try that briefly if not, to check for us?

thanks so much for your insight, glad to hear it's performing well for you.

I can't get 3dMark to run..I'm new to windows and not over the aggravation phase yet. But I did open a Photoshop doc at the size you requested and there is no lag with a 1000pixel brush. It Tarts to get laggy as you get closer to 2000pixels. Touch gestures are limited in PhotoShop, can't pan, zoom, or rotate with gestures. I work primarily with Magna Studio 5 EX and I'm using the 5.03 update that isn't public yet. The touch interface for that is great!

Sorry I can't run the benchmarks for you. I got the program installed but I get an error when I run it and their website didn't give me any solution.
