Interesting, according to the site, the Companion 2 comes with up to 12 gb of ram, not 16. Still nothing to scoff at but if thats true, it isn't as much as people were expecting.
Edit: Nevermind I lied, looks like it has 16 GB of ram for the 512 GB SSD model. For some reason it says, under the specifications area, that the tablets range from 4 to 12 GB of ram. I wonder if that is just a typo.
Yeah, 16 is the max, they thankfully have dual channel.
Great product page, but I still don't see it in their store yet. Any idea when we can purchase?
Not that I'm going to, just want to get an official quote on how much a decked out i7 would be...
The store page is up but we cant buy it yet.. oh man..
I'm seeing the 64, 128, and 256gb versions are now OUT OF STOCK on Wacom.com. It was only "Error: Could not find SKU" not too long ago, how could they have sold out so fast?! I hope this isn't true, as I'm trying to sell off my old Companion in order to get the 256gb version at least.
yeah this is getting a bit annoying..
It seems they're on sale now, but the 512gb version is still showing the missing SKU error message, so I guess that's not on sale yet.
Ordered the i5 model today. I was tempted to go for the i3 version, since I really think the Companion 2's Cintiq capability is more critical and should long outlast its viability as a tablet pc, but I then thought it would be harder to review it head to head with the Surface Pro 3. At least I resisted spending the additional $400 for the i7.
Can't wait to read your inevitably awesome review on it. I am really hoping this round of Companions are built to last and have better QC.
Thanks. I hope so too. I started down this rabbit hole because I felt Wacom pro devices were too expensive. Little did I know it would become a two-year obsession. These may be famous last words, but I'm hoping the Companion 2 will be the last device I buy to review (this year...or until the Surface Pro 4 is released...or how about that Thinkpad 15?)
