How is the pen working at all? It is the active one which usually use batteries... but it looks like this Wacom not.

No batteries, it's Wacom, so the digitizer is active, not the pen.

. All seems to fine, for now, and the pen on this one seems to be more accurate, even in the corners.[/QUOTE]

Would you mind providing the date of manufacture for the new tablet?

Update to this post. Day 6, I now have the most stable stylus in the history of the world... :) It's been under moderate usage everyday, plus only on sleep mode when not using. And put on sleep mode every night overnight. The stylus has been working flawlessly since I did the tweak in the previous post.

Take it for what it's worth, it's a sample size of one.

ok, I will try with mine.
If you disable power management for the sensor, did you observe that the connected standby mode is less efficient?

You mean more battery drain? I didn't notice any difference the first few nights. Last night it lost 5% overnight, but I might attribute it to Windows not having been rebooted for almost a week.

Thanks for the update. I will give your solution a try. The pen on my replacement unit has been failing everyday since it started failing again a few days ago. It worked fine the first 2 weeks. My previous unit was the same way. It worked good for a few weeks. I wonder if it has anything to do with a faulty battery. The battery wear on my AVN8 is around 2.0% after 2 weeks of use. It was about the same on the previous unit. The wear was 0% the first day. I don't know if the wear rate is normal or not. But it just does not make sense why it always start failing after a several week of use for many of us having the issue.

The suggested solution did not help. The pen stopped working again today and I can't get it back no matter what this time. I think I had enough. It's going back to MS store. Since it was 2 bad unit from them in a row, I am considering buying from other retailer. Rakuten.com has 45 days return window.
