I was reading on another thread about screen resolutions. It reminded me about a driver on one of the tablets I had that I thought was a great idea. The maximum resolution of the notebook was 1024x768, however the control panel would allow you to set it all the way up to 1280x960 or something like that. However, rather then squishing the screen it scrolled. It wasn't great, but it looked better then squished. Do any of the drivers do that today? Is there third party software to do that?

With ATI or NVIDIA dedicated graphics, you can always download tweaked drivers (to replace the ones provided by the OEM). Perhaps they might do the trick. This guy does some very cool work: http://www.omegadrivers.net/
