Once again demonstrating the competence of the Dell sales organization . . . .

By the way, no word back on this at the Dell forum, despite a request to Dell for an update as to a delivery estimate (a Dell rep. earlier had said early August in the U.S., and said that he would provide updated info.--nada as to both; when did the idea of customer service and keeping customers advised, as well as living up to one's given word, become a dirty word?).

I have tried this setup with a Lenovo tablet as host for an RFID reader. The tablet charges for about 10 secs. the it stops charging. Any suggestions as to why? Thanks!

    But not at a price-gouging € 34.30 . . . .

And both are significantly less (and neither should form a basis for Dell's pricing of this basic accessory, which should be offered at a corresponding basic accessory price, IMHO . . .).

No they are a similar price, here in europe ( with shipping and tax).
And why should dell charge less then the competition?

Because this is a basic accessory for Dell's own tablet, that "corrects" the tablet's port limitations and costs Dell well less than US$10 to produce, and to charge significantly above that for a part like this (here, 20% of the cost of the tablet--well beyond the price of the tablet's stylus and power adapter/cable) could be seen as price-gouging of the tablet's customers?

edit: Perhaps best to discuss issues such as these in the adapter's own thread, to keep things in one place and avoid cluttering this long thread up more. The higher pricing also has been discussed there. http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/del...e-8-pro-simultaneous-power-data-dongle-2.html

As I posted in the other place, rough UK pricing:

Well in the UK the Dell dongle is roughly £30 with VAT and delivery, the Vener8 works out at £26, inc. pnp, and the +Port £21 without shipping.
