Apart from the pen, in your opinion is the DV8P better than AVTN8?

    Thanks. :)

Any body else having dismal transfer speeds over the network? I've tried both HomeGroup and FTP, but I get an average transfer rate of 2.5mb/s :(.
It's not the infrastructure, as I'm running a 1Gbps router, and both computers are connected via wireless N.

I remember there was some spesific option for it in Wireless adapter settings > Atheros settings > additional (2.4/5 GHz toggle) but it gone after driver updates. Check it on yours tablet.

Title says all. This weekend, most of my Metro apps have suddenly stopped working. Most of them will open to the splash screen and then just minimize to the desktop. IE opens and runs, but for some reason does not want to play Flash content. Music opens to the Xbox page and refuses to show my local (on SD card) content.

I did a lot of reading and while I have seen this described, there aren't any real solutions other than reinstalling offending programs.

Reinstalling Music and Here Maps and Mail resolved those apps. Reinstalling Kindle did not.... it opens to the splash screen for much longer than it did pre-reinstall but it eventually minimizes to the task bar as before. Oddly, the desktop version works OK.

I can't uninstall IE... it seems to be baked into the OS?

I don't remember doing anything that could have caused this.

Anyone have any insights here? I'm about to refresh the thing and if that doesn't work, wipe and start over. Never had to do that with any other OS EVER. :(

Yes. Much better build quality and better screen and battery just to name a few.

There have been many hardware failures of the pen on the AVN8 as well.

    Thanks.

    At the end I've ordered the DV8P 64GB WiFi+3G so I'm waiting :)

Only a question (not so important): does the 3G model have GPS?

    Thank you. :)

Hey, I'm having the same issue that you encountered. I attempted to create a RamDisk but I got the same error telling me communication with the driver failed. I was using version v4.4.0.RC19 of RAMDisk by Dataram - I tried using the newest version at first v4.4.0.RC31, but it never even launched. It would crash as soon as I would attempt to open the configuration utility.

Sounds like virus to me. Did you recently install some dodgy softwares or go to shady website?
Do you have an antivirus installed?
But I might be wrong so I suggest to do factory reset (if you did back up the factory recovery before), then see what happens
