I figured we'll need a thread specifically for this years CES, where some of us expect to see the first pre-release foldable phone/tablet. Usually a member or two from forum also goes to Vegas so perhaps we could keep all things CES related in one simple thread? Links to videos and whatnot.

Well ,it's media day today so I expect we'll get the first bigger announcements.

I expect to hear a lot about 5G, 8K, foldable screens, maybe even a pre-product product, AI in new gadgets, specialized robots affordable enough for consumers. Probably more on self-driving cars. But I guess we'll know more in 12 hours or so.

Ok, so let's get started with the exciting announcements...

The ultra-sexy Spectre 15 x360 is getting some OLED sweetness :)

The first 15" consumer OLED to my knowledge, and at that size you might even forgive the 16:9.

The specs on last year's model were very respectable (with your choice of Core i7-8550U+GeForce MX150, or the even beefier Core i7-8705G w/Radeon RX Vega GL) and of course, Wacom AES 2.0 with tilt.

Final specs still TBA, but this could be shaping up to be the next king of affordable workstation tablets!

Strange that the design has backtracked from the latest "gem cut" x360 15, the one with the Nvidia 1050 ti Max-Q.

Regardless, this has definitely caught my attention. Especially if it has
    10-bit HDR.

Actually from the pics, it matches the recent "gem-cut" 13" design, as seen in Lisa's review:

But it is different from the design of the previous 15", without the distinctive 45° charging port:

Both look posh to me...HP is really killing it with their designs. ;)

Okay, my eyes must be going bad. Which means I probably really need the OLED screen! I could have sworn that the photos in your post had the older style.:eek:

I do prefer the gem cut style, not for the looks because I think they're both a little bit gaudy (I prefer the XPS 15 or, better, Thinkpad X1), but because of the placement of the power button and the USB-C on the right-rear for a power cable that won't get in the way.

I see we've already begun the @dstrauss "rationalization" train... :D

Having learned nothing from our 2018 confessionals...we truly are an intractable bunch aren't we? ;)

Why pair OLED with AES - that's like putting catsup on a Wagyu ribeye...
