Microsoft store online and Microsoft local stores are completely out of stock of VAIO Z Canvas.
The VAIO online store is selling at full price.
If there is a warranty issue VAIO verifies and provides basic support.
Any repairs would have to be sent to Japan …
VAIO has no idea if/when a newer model will be be created…
It comes with a one year warranty if sold from authorized seller.
I found availability with discount on Newegg and Amazon but...
    Newegg is not authorized.
Amazon online sales are not authorized if not from VAIO directly.
The Amazon site vendors I saw online were sold by and shipped by non-authoized dealers.

So I'm going to float this one out there, not really understanding m.2 capabilities or thunderbolt, but would there any possible way of using the additional m.2 slot to add TB3 support to the Canvas? Or even better, maybe replace one of the USB 3.0 ports with a USB 3.1 port which supports TB3?

That sounds about right. The Z-Canvas has a 63 W battery, and its Quad Core i7 is rated as 47 W TDP.

The usual caveats: a new windows system goes nuts with updates and indexing the first few days, so at least give it some time before getting too disappointed. :)

Just picked mine up from delivery. Trying to decide if I really need it, haha. Of course I really want it. But that's a whole other thing

So glad I was so busy the day that sale broke. I almost bought it 3 times in the morning and kept hesitating. I got busy and the day flew by and by the time I started to think about it again that evening and temptation was setting back in it was too late and they were sold out. I was kind of relieved.
