    Dear Folks

I don't expect many of us will have any reason to upgrade the sound card on this puppy, but I thought y'all would know whether it was possible, and if so, within what limits.

Trying to layer recordings with the standard sound card results in a seemingly inevitable latency - so you make a recording, and then record over that, and the second track has a half-second delay. This is widely attributed to cheap sound cards; this explanation is further reinforced by the fact that I have another rather old machine that has a fancy sound card, and never have this problem on it.

There may be software solutions, I'm not sure. But I thought if anyone knows the viability of a hardware solution, it's you folks.

Thanks for your consideration, your presence, and this great forum.

The first thing that came into my mind is a USB solution. Obviously it has the con of having a little device attached (like a 3g modem). It has the advantage of leaving the slate unopened!

Keep us posted. It's an interesting topic.

    Try recording with audacity

I've never had a problem with any sound card I've used it on.

Also USB is the only way to upgrade the tablets sound card.
