I thought EP121 could only accept 4gig for one bank.

There's nothing about the mobo chipset that should prevent it from recognizing 8GB SODIMM AFAIK.

Did you link to the wrong page?
It doesn't state it has to be spread over the total channels (AFAIK it isn't/hasn't ever been a requirement, but I only deal with the server processors, desktops might be different)
Like it says there are 4 threads, but you don;t have to have them enabled

Doesn't necessarily mean it's 4GB per channel limit. Usually one could infer that from the spec list, but the rest of the regular voltage Core i5 supports 8gb per channel, so unless Intel artificially limited the ULV Core i5's, it should "theoretically" work.

Even if you could upgrade to 8gb....Why?

4 gb is more then enough for most anything.....what do you plan to use the Slate for that would require 8gb?

Some of us are Artists that use our tablets for a living and work with very large files in Photoshop, especially for print work. (CMYK is even larger than RGB files)

Yep. I page the HDD with 4GB of RAM when I'm doing 4000x2000+ canvas with lots of layers...
