tx2500z shipping delays?

    got mine today :D

    i'm playing with it now. seems to run a little hot but no hotter then my other laptop. I'm sure I can tweak the settings to cool it down.

    first up is getting rid of the bloat. having all those programs running in the task bar is irritating to say the least.

    I also purchased mine on the 22nd, with and estimated ship date of JULY 27, but yet I got an email saying it shipped today...

    Too bad I am going on vacation for ten days starting tomorrow....

    do they use the...
    HP 8-cell Lithium-Ion Battery for HP Pavilion tx2000/tx1000 Notebook PC
    HP 6-cell Lithium-Ion Battery for HP Pavilion tx2000/tx1000 Notebook PC

    or they use something special?

    I ordered mine the 25th and it says shipped this morning =D.
    I was told a july 26th build date, so to my delight i got this update.
    Btw, I got the 2.2ghz with 8cell. So i doubt the 8cell is the problem.

    Just recieved mine.
    Display had smudge marks over it and there was also a minor scratch on the display frame. We are not buying refurbs for crying out loud.

    And to top it all off the AC adapter seems to be dead. Does not charge the battery. Blinks the led at the power socket, dont know what that means but does not charge the battery.

    My guess is the battery is not seated properly or the battery is bad.

    My touchscreen doesn't work :(

    HP tech support is ridiculous. They've asked if I have a touchscreen 3 times. Each time I've told them yes, and it is the only option available on the model. Each time, they've replied, "Yes, that's correct" :rolleyes:

    edit: now I have to go through calibrating the screen. He doesn't understand I can't tap the screen if it's broken. This is getting frustrating because he just keeps saying, "XXX, can we try these steps once again with me ?". I've been on tech support for an hour now

    I think the FedEx facility manager from Alaska is a reader of this forum who also purchased a TX2500 and understood our anticipation and frustration with the shipping delay so he/she decided to express ship all our tablets to us. That's why we all received our tablet TWO DAYS early!!! My box has a sticker on it that says it was shipped by AIR to the local airport where I live, which is SNA (3 mile-radius) from where I live) rather than some international airport far away.
