    Hi all,

The other day I was working on one of my projects on my TX2524ca and I noticed that both, my project (using openGL) and firefox 3, where running as slow as my grandma after a good meal (don't ask), so I decided to fix my problem and downloaded the latest ATI drivers from AMD's site 8.7... I got a BSOD and had to uninstall, then after searching a little more I found the 8.8 beta drivers and installed them, they worked but didn't solve the Firefox problem (OpenGL works fast now) so I started a journey to fix my firefox problem...

Long story short, I tried everything and ended up hacking the registry. Well after some time trying I couldn't fix my Firefox problem, but I found a way to activate the TabletPC functionality of the drivers (screen rotation), so here it is:

I prepared this pack containing the best of 8.6, 8.7 and 8.8 drivers.

    *** UPDATE ***
ATI just released the 8.8 drivers, heres the modified pack for the TX2500 series:

    cheers!

The quick launch buttons driver that worked for me is here.

Some people claims this version also works.
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...swItem=ob-61528-1&lang=en&cc=us&idx=3&mode=4&

    To install:
If you already have screen rotation working using software like Pivot, you must follow this:
    - uninstall QuickLaunch drivers first
    - then uninstall Pivot
    - uninstall ALL ATI drivers
    - restart
    - install my display drivers package
    - restart
    - install QuickLaunch Drivers
    - restart and enjoy.

If you don't have pivot or QuickLaunch, just uninstall ALL ATI Drivers, restart and install my drivers and quicklaunch drivers, restart and enjoy.

BTW. Report here any bugs... not that I can fix them but just to know. Oh! and if someone knows how to fix the "Firefox 3 slow as my grandma" problem, please let me know.

    Hope this helps.
    Cheers.

    Hi, thanks for the package,
the rotation button is working again on my TX2500 in XP.
I found out something interesting in my TX2500 which could cause our problems with graphic performance.
    Please read my topic:

There are some unrecognized drivers for really important devices in device manager. Hope you will find a solution.

    Thanks a lot for help

Yup, all those issues are solved with this one, usually the coords break when you have pivot and quicklaunch installed and you uninstall pivot before uninstalling quicklaunch. When that happened to me, the only solution I found was reinstall windows XP, but who knows, there could be another way.

Yay, the rotation works! :) Thx
About the firefox scroll lagg thing (I have it too), I found 2 solutions:

    1. Right Click on the desktop>Properties>Settings>Advanced and a new window should come up, now go to the Troubleshoot and drag the slider down (to the left) one "click". "Disable crusor and bitmap blahblah.

    2. Get Safari... http://www.apple.com/safari/

    Hi eksempel!

I could not believe, that this can solve my issues!
I thought that if the hardware acceleration is set to highest value, it must be the fastest. This way, with the slider on 1 step to left it is working like a charm. At least it definitely did something. I will give it to my girlfriend to test on Photoshop to see how it performs and will write again. So far thank you very much. You cured my out of my headache.

This is freaking awesome! sometimes the simplest solutions are the hardest to find... thanks!

One little thing though, look at your CPU usage when scrolling now... I guess the CPU takes the shot, fair enough I say!

    Hi I agree,
but I tried everything and this is the only solution, that makes it really usable. The CPU is strong enough, but this way, there is no point having a powerful graphic card.. I think, it should be sorted out somehow differently.
If anybody will have better idea, please post.
